On the spur of the moment, I decided to buy a small tabletop grill fueled by a 1 pound cannister of propane. My history of larger grills is littered with broken gas lines, mysterious animals holing up in them, and empty propane tanks. So I decided against buying another one, but I really craved grill cooking.
Oh, the delcious chicken I've cooked this week! Amazing what some flame and smoke can do to enhance a simple preparation. Chicken pieces cook in under 20 minutes. I created my own barbeque sauce by mixing two difference bottled sauces together.
One sauce is called American Classic Wing Sauce by Balducci's. The other is Weber's Buzz'n Honey BBQ Sauce that I bought from the grocery store. I pour some of the spicy wing sauce into a small custard cup, then add about half as much of the sweet sauce and mix. Brushing the sauce on the pieces after they're mostly cooked gives them lots of flavor while avoiding too much charring.
Serve with freshly steamed sweet corn and a lively tossed greed salad and you've got a delicious dinner in about 30 minutes.
